Health Warranty

We understand that bringing a new furry family member into your home is a big decision, and we want to make sure that you have the utmost confidence in the health and well-being of your new companion.

At Maizey Jane’s Doodles, we aim to produce only the healthiest dogs, which gives us the confidence to offer an extensive health warranty that covers life-inhibiting genetic defects. Before entering our breeding program, each of the parents of our puppies has been thoroughly vetted and screened for genetic conditions. In other words, we do everything we can to provide you with a happy and healthy puppy. However, our commitment to the well-being of our dogs doesn’t stop there. We prioritize their overall care, ensuring they receive regular veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and a balanced diet. Our puppies are raised in a loving and nurturing environment, where they are socialized from an early age to ensure they grow into well-adjusted companions. We believe that early socialization is crucial for their emotional development and helps them become confident and friendly dogs. Additionally, we provide ongoing support to our puppy parents, offering guidance on training, nutrition, and any other concerns they may have. At Maizey Jane’s Doodles, we understand that bringing a new furry family member home is a significant decision, and we strive to make the process as smooth as possible. With our dedication to producing healthy and happy puppies combined with our comprehensive support system, you can rest assured that your new companion will bring joy to your life for years to come.

72-Hour Health Warranty: “Examination Period”

In addition to our extensive health guarantee, we offer a 72-hour Health Warranty for added peace of mind. We understand that bringing a new furry family member into your home is a big decision, and we want to make sure that you have the utmost confidence in the health and well-being of your new companion. Our commitment to producing only the healthiest dogs extends beyond just genetic screening; it includes ongoing care and support for our puppies and their new families. With our 72-hour Health Warranty, you can rest assured knowing that we stand behind the quality and care that go into each and every one of our puppies.

With that being said, the Purchaser(s) must have the puppy examined at their own expense within three (3) business days of receiving the puppy (the “Examination Period“) for this section’s guarantee to be valid. During the Examination Period, any requests to return the puppy/dog to the Breeder must include a statement from a licensed veterinarian outlining any problems, including that the puppy is “unfit for purchase”. In the event a licensed veterinarian determines that the puppy is ill or unsuitable for sale, the puppy/dog may be returned to the Breeder for a complete refund of the Total Purchase Price. Within twenty-four hours of the veterinary examination, the purchaser(s) must provide the Breeder with a written statement outlining any problems, including that the puppy is “unfit for purchase.” The Health Warranty is void if the Purchaser(s) does not transport the puppy to the veterinarian within three business days of purchase.

Within five (5) days of the examination date, if the puppy/dog is found to be unfit for sale, the puppy/dog must be returned to the Breeder. All costs associated with returning the puppy are borne by the Purchaser(s). The foregoing guarantee expressly excludes (x) any health issues caused by the Purchaser(s)’s maltreatment, abuse, or neglect; (y) any health issues that result from the puppy/dog’s transportation from Breeder to Purchaser(s); and (z) all minor illnesses and health issues, including upper respiratory infections, allergic reactions, stress colitis, diarrhea, internal or external parasites or contagious viruses (including Canine Parvovirus), UTIs, improper bite, and improper teething. The Purchaser(s) is solely responsible for all veterinary expenses.

Due to the unpredictability of Canine Parvovirus (CPV), we request that you keep your puppy off public grounds (such as parks, sports fields, commonly used streets, beaches, veterinary clinics, etc.) until he or she is 16 weeks of age and has received all puppy vaccinations and treatment listed in the attached schedule. Even though your puppy has been vaccinated and dewormed, not all pet owners vaccinate their animals, leaving the puppy susceptible to exposure. The purchaser(s) must transport your puppy in their arms or in a pet carrier if they must bring the puppy into a public place, such as the veterinarian’s office. The puppy should NOT be placed on the ground at any point in time. The Health Warranty is void if a disease occurs as a result of the aforementioned conditions not being met.

30 Days of Free Health Insurance Coverage: Trupanion

Trupanion offers 30 Days of Free Health Insurance Coverage for your puppy, providing an added layer of protection in case of any unexpected illnesses or accidents. This coverage can help alleviate the financial burden of veterinary expenses during the initial period, when your puppy may be more susceptible to potential health risks.

Maizey Jane’s Doodles provides a certificate for 30 days of free health insurance through Trupanion, which must be activated by the buyer. Within the first 30 days, only the deductible will be covered for any defects covered by the warranty. To activate this complimentary coverage, it is the Buyer’s responsibility to enroll their pet with Trupanion within the first 24 hours of ownership.

2-Year Health Warranty

It is important for the buyer to carefully review the terms and conditions of the warranty to understand what is covered and any necessary steps to take if a health issue arises.

Maizey Jane’s Doodles offers a two-year warranty from the date of birth of the puppy against any life-inhibiting genetic defect. For the purposes of this section, “Life-inhibiting genetic defect” (i) includes Degenerative Myelopathy, Macrothrombocytopenia, Neonatal Encephalopathy, Osteochondrodysplasia, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, and Von Willebrand, but (ii) expressly excludes orthopedic issues such as Carpus Joint Issues, Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Dysplasia, Luxating Patella, etc.

Within two years from the date of birth of the puppy, if your puppy is found to have a life-inhibiting genetic defect by a licensed veterinarian, Maizey Jane’s Doodles will replace the puppy with one of equal value or refund a maximum of fifty percent of the Total Purchase Price. The Purchaser(s) must notify the Breeder within five (5) business days of the first veterinarian’s determination. Two independent veterinarians specializing in the condition must provide written verification to the Breeder. The Breeder has to approve both veterinarians. If the condition involves the hips, elbows, eyes, or heart, the verification must come from a board-certified OFA or PennHip veterinarian to verify that it is a life-inhibiting genetic condition. This guarantee is void if the diagnosis is inconclusive or indeterminate. A board-certified veterinarian (DVM) must carry out all laboratory verification, including a necropsy report, to show that a genetic condition was the cause of mortality. If necropsy results in an undetermined or inconclusive diagnosis, the warranty is null and void. Warranty coverage is limited to the original Purchaser(s). If puppy/dog ownership is transferred, these provisions of the agreement will be null and void. This puppy/dog cannot be guaranteed not to shed or cause an allergic reaction. Purchaser(s) acknowledge that the breeder’s estimates of adult coat type, adult height, and adult weight are the Breeder’s educated approximations. The purchaser(s) is liable for all costs associated with returning the puppy to the Breeder. The Breeder is not liable for any veterinary expenses incurred by the Purchaser(s) at any time or under any circumstances. The purchaser(s) must notify the Breeder if the puppy/dog develops any health issues so that the breeder can evaluate the parents and other puppies from the same litter to determine the cause of the ailment. To be in compliance with the 2-year health guarantee, the purchaser(s) must maintain an attached vaccination and treatment schedule.

The Purchaser(s) remain solely responsible for all veterinary expenses. If the Purchaser(s) declines a replacement puppy, the Breeder shall have no further obligation, and the Purchaser(s) shall be deemed to have released the Breeder from any and all claims and renounced their right to prosecute any claim against the Breeder. This Health Warranty will also expire and be void if the Purchaser(s) fail to comply with any of the terms of this Agreement. This Health Guarantee shall also expire and become void if the Purchaser(s) fails to comply with any provision of the Purchase Agreement. The value of the puppy/dog is restricted to the Total Purchase Price of the puppy/dog and excludes taxes, travel fees, and other costs. A Release of Veterinary Records Form must be signed in order for the Breeder to obtain documentation. This Health Guarantee does not cover viral illnesses, infections, improper wounds, herpes, hypoglycemia, parasites, cancer, endocrine disorders, urinary tract infections, Addison’s disease, vaginitis, Giardia, or Coccidioses. It also excludes illness resulting from the ingestion of extraneous objects, food, or substances, as well as physical injury. This Health Warranty is non-transferable and is void if the puppy or dog is sold or transferred outside the United States without prior written consent from the Breeder.

The Maizey Jane’s Doodles Puppy Purchase Agreement and Health Warranty Contract contains the Parties’ final and complete agreement and understanding and is the complete expression of its terms and conditions.

Maizey Jane’s Doodles is not liable for any damages caused by the dog’s mistreatment, accident, negligence, or misuse. Furthermore, Maizey Jane’s Doodles is not accountable for any indirect, incidental, or special damages caused by the dog.
